Job Description:
A Galvanizing Quality Supervisor oversees quality control and inspections, ensures adherence to standards and safety, and manages a team of inspectors and workers. Key responsibilities include planning and scheduling quality checks, maintaining inspection data, resolving quality issues, and working with production to improve processes and product quality. The role also involves reporting on performance, managing staff, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Manage Quality and Inspection: Plan and coordinate the flow of work through quality assurance, perform or oversee inspections, and ensure products meet customer requirements and internal standards.
- Supervise and Lead Team: Directly supervise quality inspectors and other staff, manage their performance, and maintain attendance records.
- Ensure Safety and Compliance: Monitor and enforce safety regulations and quality procedures throughout the galvanizing process.
- Process Improvement: Work with production teams to implement new or revised processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues and other problems that arise during production.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain inspection records, defect data, and generate daily or weekly reports on quality, production metrics, and staff performance.
- Coordinate with Other Departments: Act as a liaison between production, maintenance, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
- Training and Development: Train staff on operating procedures, safety protocols, and best practices to ensure proficiency.
Qualifications and skills
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Technical knowledge of the galvanizing process and quality control standards.
- Proficiency in process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
- Understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
- Experience working in a production or quality-focused environment is often preferred.
