Job Description:

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: MG Road Raipur Chhattisgarh

Reports to: Accounting Manager

Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting various accounting functions. This role requires a thorough understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. General Ledger Management:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and review journal entries and adjustments.

2. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports and variance analyses.
- Support external audit activities, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

3. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Oversee and ensure the accuracy of accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Perform regular reconciliations of accounts and resolve discrepancies.

4. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analyses.

5. Compliance and Control:
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, and external regulations.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Assist in the implementation and improvement of accounting systems and procedures.

6. Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and review tax filings, including sales tax, property tax, TDS, and income tax.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and regulatory authorities as needed.

7. Special Projects:
- Participate in and lead special projects as assigned by management.
- Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on general ledger management, GST management, TDS knowledge, income tax and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally Prime) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

Office environment.
