Position Overview:

The Collection Debt Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the debt collection process for the organization. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to improve collection rates, managing a team of collection agents, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and working closely with other departments to resolve outstanding debts. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of collection practices, and a proven track record of successfully managing collection operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective collection strategies and policies to maximize recovery rates and minimize bad debt.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of collection agents, including setting performance goals, conducting training, and evaluating performance.
  • Collection Process Oversight: Oversee the daily operations of the collections department, including the management of accounts receivable, handling escalated collection issues, and ensuring timely follow-up on overdue accounts.
  • Compliance: Ensure all collection activities comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and other relevant legislation.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on collection activities, performance metrics, and financial outcomes to senior management.
  • Customer Relations: Address customer inquiries and disputes related to collections in a professional and effective manner to maintain positive relationships and resolve issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in collection processes and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as Finance and Customer Service, to support overall business objectives and resolve collection-related issues.
