Sr. Network Engineer

Job Description:

Job Overview: A highly qualified and certified Senior Network Engineer is what we are looking for to lead and assist the management and improvement of our network and security infrastructure. The preferred candidate will possess vast experience in network engineering, cloud networks, and security systems, together with comprehension of compliance standards. This position entails both strategic leadership as well as practical execution so that our network can function smoothly and safely from different locations.

 Key Responsibilities:

1. Network Management and Security:
• Oversee the planning, engineering, and monitoring of complex network and security arrangements to protect network systems.
• Manage and configure Palo Alto firewalls, network switches, routers, and security infrastructure including IPS/IDS, content filtering, and Global Protect User VPN.
• Establish and maintain IPSec tunnels and manage interconnectivity across multiple sites.
2. Cloud Network Management:
• Manage and optimize cloud networks on platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Integrate and secure cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring compliance with security standards and best practices.
3. Compliance and Standards Management:
• Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR, and other relevant standards.
• Stay current with legal and regulatory aspects of system security and ensure all systems align with industry requirements.
4. Security Systems Maintenance and Development:
• Design, configure, and maintain advanced security systems, including Palo Alto VM series firewalls.
• Regularly test systems for vulnerabilities and develop solutions to address emerging security threats.
5. Incident Response and Forensic Investigation:
• Lead the response to network security incidents, conduct thorough forensic investigations, and report findings to upper management.
• Maintain detailed documentation of system vulnerabilities and remediation strategies.
6. Communication and Reporting:
• Effectively communicate network security incidents, risks, and mitigation strategies to upper management.
• Develop and implement responses to malicious code, software vulnerabilities, and emerging security threats.
7. Innovation and Improvement:
• Continuously update knowledge of the latest technologies, security principles, and protocols.
• Innovate and implement new methods to enhance network security and performance, particularly in cloud environments.
8. Infrastructure Maintenance:
• Supervise the configuration and installation of new software and hardware across both on-premise and cloud environments.
• Regularly update and optimize security protocols, system architecture, and network infrastructure.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CCNP Security, CEH, CISSP.
• Proven experience as a Senior Network Engineer, Security Engineer, or Information Security Engineer.
• Extensive experience managing compliance with ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR, and other standards.
• Proficiency in managing cloud networks on AWS and Azure platforms.
• Expertise in Palo Alto firewalls, network switches, routers, IPS/IDS, Global Protect VPN, and content filtering.
• Strong understanding of web-related terminologies, software, protocols, and architectures.
• Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of computer forensic tools, data loss prevention, and disaster recovery methods.

Working Conditions:
This role may require occasional after-hours work and on-call availability to address urgent network security issues, particularly in a cloud environment.
