Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Credit Risk Analyst will be responsible for analyzing the credit risk of existing and potential clients, providing insights to support lending decisions, and helping to develop risk management strategies. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, the ability to interpret financial data, and experience with credit risk modeling.
Key Responsibilities:

Credit Assessment & Analysis:
- Conduct thorough analysis of financial statements, credit reports, and market conditions to assess the creditworthiness of clients.
- Evaluate the likelihood of loan repayment based on data such as income, cash flow, and outstanding debt.
- Prepare detailed credit reports and risk assessments for use in decision-making.

Risk Management:
- Monitor the credit performance of clients and portfolios, identifying potential risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain credit risk models and scorecards to quantify risk.

Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare clear, concise, and accurate risk reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Document and maintain records of all credit assessments and related decisions.

Collaboration:
- Work closely with the underwriting, finance, and compliance teams to ensure credit policies and guidelines are met.
- Provide recommendations on improving credit policies, standards, and procedures based on findings.

Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to local, national, and international regulatory requirements related to credit risk.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and economic factors affecting credit risk.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) is a plus.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in credit risk analysis, lending, or a related field within banking or financial services.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in financial analysis and risk modeling tools (e.g., Excel, SAS, Python, R).
- Familiarity with financial reporting standards and credit analysis methodologies.
- Experience with credit risk management software and financial databases.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze financial data and market trends to identify risks.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
- Problem-solving: Ability to make data-driven decisions and recommendations for risk mitigation.
Preferred Certifications:
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
- Financial Risk Manager (FRM)
- Certified Credit Risk Analyst (CCRA)
