Senior Palo Alto Engineer (Prisma, Cortex & Panorama Expertise)
Job Description:
Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Palo Alto Engineer with expertise in Prisma, Cortex, and Panorama platforms. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge and practical experience in designing, deploying, and managing Palo Alto Networks security solutions. A PCNSC (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Consultant) and/or CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) certification is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architecture & Design: Design and architect secure network infrastructure leveraging Palo Alto technologies, including Prisma, Cortex, and Panorama, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and business requirements.
- Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Act as a subject matter expert in resolving complex incidents. Use Cortex XDR and other tools for investigation, containment, and remediation of security threats.
- Implementation & Configuration: Lead the deployment, configuration, and integration of Palo Alto security solutions (NGFWs, Prisma Access, Cortex XDR, etc.) within on-premises and cloud environments.
- Security Operations: Monitor and maintain the Palo Alto security infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security posture. Proactively identify risks and resolve complex security issues.
- Policy Management: Manage and optimize security policies across global networks using Panorama, ensuring they meet the organization's security needs without impacting performance.
- Automation & Orchestration: Automate repetitive tasks and workflows using Palo Alto security solutions and scripting where necessary, streamlining operations and reducing manual effort.
- Training & Documentation: Provide training and mentoring to junior engineers and write clear documentation on the configuration and maintenance of the security environment.
Qualifications:
- Extensive hands-on experience with Palo Alto products including Strata, Prisma, Cortex, and Panorama.
- Deep knowledge of Palo Alto NGFWs, including the ability to configure and manage advanced security features (e.g., threat prevention, URL filtering, SSL decryption).
- Strong understanding of cloud security architecture and how to implement Palo Alto security solutions in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Certifications:
- PCNSC (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Consultant) certification required.
- CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) certification preferred, with a focus on security.
Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of networking concepts such as routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancing.
- Experience with automation tools and scripting (Python, APIs, etc.) for security operations.
- Familiarity with SIEM and SOC operations, as well as security frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex security issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing security landscapes.
Preferred Experience:
- 6 – 8 Years of experience working in enterprise-level environments with distributed systems and large-scale networks.
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud security strategies.
- Experience working with DevOps or SecOps teams to integrate security into the CI/CD pipeline.
