Job Description:
They are responsible for understanding and following the technical instructions for all electric vehicle systems.
The duties and responsibilities of an Electric Vehicle Technician include:
- Performing routine maintenance on electric vehicles, such as changing batteries, checking tire pressure, and changing air filters
- Diagnosing and repairing electric vehicle systems, including battery systems, motors, and controllers
- Utilizing diagnostic tools to test vehicle components and systems
- Performing high voltage system testing and high voltage vehicle repairs
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest electric vehicle technology and repair techniques
- Interpreting and applying information from technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
- Ensuring compliance with safety procedures when handling high voltage systems
- Communicating with customers to explain repairs and maintenance work
- Maintaining records of all services and repairs
- Assisting in the recharging of electric vehicles and the installation of charging equipment
