Job Description

The Placement Head will be responsible for managing and driving all placement activities. This role requires a dynamic individual with a deep understanding of the creative industries, including animation, graphic design, film, media, and visual arts. The Placement Manager will cultivate partnerships with studios, production houses, agencies, and other creative enterprises to ensure students have access to internships, freelance opportunities, and full-time employment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and Implement Placement Strategies: 

  • Design and execute strategies to maximize job and internship placements for students in creative fields. 
  • Identify and collaborate with a diverse range of creative companies, including animation studios, production houses, digital marketing agencies, and design firms. 
  • Foster partnerships with industry leaders to support ongoing curriculum relevance and provide direct hiring pipelines. 

2. Manage Employer Relations: 

  • Build and maintain a network of employers within the creative and media sectors. 
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the academy and potential employers, understanding their hiring needs and aligning them with the skills of graduates. 
  • Organize industry-specific events such as portfolio reviews, studio tours, creative job fairs, and alumni networking events. 

3. Student Career Development: 

  • Conduct regular workshops and seminars on resume building, portfolio development, showreel preparation, interview skills, and freelancing tips. 
  • Provide one-on-one career counseling to help students understand their career paths, navigate industry expectations, and effectively showcase their talents. 
  • Develop resources and materials to assist students in preparing for creative roles, freelance work, and entrepreneurial opportunities.

4. Coordinate Placement Activities: 

  • Oversee the entire placement process, from screening students to final placement with employers. 
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute on-campus and virtual recruitment events, studio collaborations, and industry interactions. 
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of students, placement records, and employer feedback. 

5. Monitor Industry Trends: 

  • Stay updated with trends in the creative arts, animation, media, and entertainment industries. 
  • Adapt placement strategies and student training programs based on evolving industry demands and feedback from hiring partners. 
  • Collaborate with faculty to align curriculum offerings with current and future job market needs. 

6. Reporting and Analysis: 

  • Track and analyze placement metrics, such as placement rates, employer engagement, and student feedback. 
  • Prepare regular reports for management on placement activities and outcomes. 
  • Provide strategic recommendations to enhance placement success rates and industry partnerships. 

7. Alumni Connect: 

  • Connect and coordinate with  Alumni 
  • Build a strong alumni network 
  • Conduct activities by alumni to motivate students and enquiries 

Skills and Qualities:

  • 6 - 8 years of experience in placement management, talent acquisition, or career services, preferably within the creative arts or media industry. 
  • Strong network within the creative arts, media, and entertainment sectors. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to understand the unique needs of creative professionals and match them with industry requirements.
  • Deep understanding of the creative industries and their employment landscape. 
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities. 
  • Expertise in portfolio and showreel evaluation. 
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Role requires travelling within country.
