Job Description:

Inward Quality Inspection:

  1. Inspection Planning: Develop a daily inspection plan based on material receipts, prioritize inspections according to urgency, and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in the ERP system.
  2. Sampling Plan Decisions: Design and implement an inspection sampling plan to ensure quality standards.
  3. Rejection Reporting & Management: Report rejections promptly, and coordinate with Procurement and Stores to decide whether to rework or return materials to suppliers.
  4. Monthly Inward Quality MIS: Publish a monthly MIS report reflecting the performance of inward quality inspections.
  5. First Article & Pilot Batch Inspection: Conduct first article and pilot batch inspections, sharing results with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Design, and Production) and maintaining samples and records when necessary.
  6. PPAP Process Implementation: Identify the need for and establish the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) where applicable.
  7. Calibration Management: Maintain detailed records of calibration activities and ensure that all measuring instruments are calibrated on schedule.
  8. Scrap & Obsolete Material Inspection: Inspect scrap and obsolete materials, reporting findings and suggesting actions for salvage or final disposal.
  9. Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA) Reviews: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Engineering, Production, and Stores) to review and ensure the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
  10. PPE Compliance: Ensure the consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE) across all quality inspection activities.
  11. Additional Responsibilities: Undertake any other tasks as instructed by the reporting manager as required.
  12. Adherence to IMS Standards: Ensure compliance with IMS standards, emphasizing process documentation, health, safety, and environmental management.
  13. Business Ethics & Compliance: Ensure that all activities adhere to the company's business ethics and compliance policies.

Concrete Pump Inspection (WIP, FG, PDI, NPD):

  1. Daily Workstation Quality Checks: Record and verify daily workstation-wise quality checkpoints against the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP).
  2. Rework Reporting: Report any rework required due to component defects or poor workmanship on the shop floor.
  3. Deviation Reporting: Report any deviations from prescribed standards and obtain Daily Status Report (DSR) approval from the appropriate authority before releasing the job for further processing.
  4. Final Quality Documentation: Maintain final quality control passed documents for each pump manufactured, ensuring that all relevant records are complete.
  5. Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for any rework or deviations using tools like A3, 7 QC tools, and 5 Why analysis, coordinating with production and parts suppliers for corrective action.
  6. Monthly WIP/FG Quality MIS: Publish a monthly MIS report detailing the quality performance for WIP, FG, PDI, and NPD processes.
  7. PPE Compliance for Pump Inspection: Ensure the use of personal protective equipment during all stages of quality inspection for pumps, including WIP, FG, and PDI.

Field Quality Review:

  1. Field Issue Reporting: Maintain records of field quality issues reported by the service team, including short materials, damages, installation issues, and breakdowns within and post-warranty.
  2. Failure Analysis: Analyze failure data and defective parts returned from the field, determining the root cause and coordinating with production or parts suppliers to develop corrective action plans.
  3. RCA & CAPA Coordination: Work with production and suppliers to identify root causes using 7 QC tools and 5 Why analysis, publishing effective corrective and preventive actions.
  4. Field Quality MIS: Publish a monthly MIS report on field quality performance, including issues with FG, installation, breakdowns, and warranty-related concerns. Establish and monitor COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) metrics.
  5. Review Field Failures: Conduct monthly or quarterly reviews with the service team to discuss field failures and develop action plans to mitigate future issues.
