Job Title: Backoffice Executive
Location: Fort, Mumbai
Salary: Basis current package and caliber
Experience: 4 years
Working Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Working Days: Monday to Friday (1st & 3rd Saturdays working)
Benefits: 5 lac Mediclaim

Role Overview:

The Backoffice Executive will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of post-trade activities in a stock broking firm. You will be responsible for handling key operational functions like margin reporting, trade allocation, reconciliation, and dealer support. The role requires daily preparation of MIS reports to assist in decision-making and performance tracking. You will work closely with compliance and trading teams to ensure accurate and timely execution of tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Segregation & Allocation:

    • Handle segregation and allocation of client funds and securities.
    • Ensure accurate allocation of trades across client accounts.
    • Monitor and rectify discrepancies in trade matching.
  2. Margin Reporting:

    • Prepare and report client margins on a daily basis.
    • Ensure margin calls are made, and reports are submitted as per regulatory requirements.
    • Liaise with clearing members for margin settlement.
  3. Dealer Support:

    • Assist the dealer team with trade confirmations and post-trade support.
    • Monitor trades and ensure timely execution in line with compliance policies.
    • Troubleshoot discrepancies between the dealer and back-office systems.
  4. MIS Reporting:

    • Prepare and present daily MIS reports on trade volumes, client positions, and revenue.
    • Ensure that data is accurate and delivered to management on time.
    • Contribute to periodic analysis of trade performance and client activity.
  5. Regulatory Compliance:

    • Assist with compliance-related documentation and reporting.
    • Maintain updated records in line with regulatory standards.
    • Submit reports on the ENIT and BEFS portals as needed.
  6. Reconciliation & Settlements:

    • Perform reconciliation of trades and fund movements between the broker’s books and client accounts.
    • Ensure timely settlement of trades and resolve discrepancies with clearing corporations.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate in any discipline, with a strong grasp of financial concepts.
  • Fluency in English is essential for client and internal communication.
  • Preferred: NISM certification in Compliance, Depository, or Risk (optional but advantageous).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel for reporting and analysis.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with various departments.
  • A good understanding of stock broking operations and regulatory requirements.
