Job Description:

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accountant with a background in legal liaisoning to join our finance team. This role requires strong accounting skills along with the ability to manage legal compliance, handle regulatory requirements, and liaise with legal authorities. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of both finance and legal matters, ensuring that the organization maintains compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Accounting and Financial Reporting:

    • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
    • Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
    • Ensure accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
  2. Legal Compliance and Liaoning:

    • Coordinate with legal departments, regulatory bodies, and external consultants to ensure compliance with relevant laws.
    • Handle legal documentation, contracts, licenses, and ensure timely renewal of licenses and permits.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for statutory and regulatory audits and inspections.
  3. Taxation and Statutory Compliance:

    • Manage and oversee tax preparation, filing, and statutory audits.
    • Ensure timely compliance with local and national tax requirements (e.g., GST, VAT, income tax).
    • Stay updated on new tax and regulatory changes and implement necessary updates within the organization.
  4. Internal Controls:

    • Develop and monitor internal controls to protect the organization’s financial assets.
    • Ensure adherence to company policies and relevant accounting standards.
    • Assist in identifying and mitigating financial and legal risks.
  5. Legal Documentation and Recordkeeping:

    • Maintain a well-organized record of all legal documents, agreements, and contracts.
    • Regularly update documentation in compliance with regulatory changes.
  6. Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Assist in budget preparation, financial planning, and cash flow management.
    • Provide management with insights on budget variances and financial health.
  7. Stakeholder Coordination:

    • Work with cross-functional teams to support legal and financial requirements.
    • Maintain positive relationships with legal consultants, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
