Job Description:

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accountant with foundational knowledge in GST, TDS, and Balance Sheet preparation. The role will support the accounting team with day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be eager to learn and grow within the finance department.

Key Responsibilities

  1. General Accounting:

    • Manage daily accounting entries and transactions, ensuring accuracy in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
    • Assist in maintaining financial records in accordance with organizational standards.
  2. GST Compliance:

    • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns as per statutory requirements.
    • Ensure timely reconciliation of GST input and output, addressing discrepancies as needed.
    • Stay updated on GST rules and regulations and ensure compliance.
  3. TDS Management:

    • Calculate and deduct TDS on applicable transactions.
    • File TDS returns accurately and within the deadline.
    • Reconcile TDS payable and issue Form 16/16A to vendors and employees as required.
  4. Balance Sheet Preparation:

    • Assist in preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
    • Support the senior accountant in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial statements.
    • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately to facilitate month-end and year-end closing.
  5. Bank Reconciliation:

    • Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure cashbook and bank statements align.
    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  6. Support Audit Process:

    • Assist in preparing and organizing documentation for internal and external audits.
    • Support the senior accountant and finance manager in audit queries related to GST, TDS, and other financial matters.
  7. Other Duties:

    • Provide general support to the finance department as needed.
    • Assist in the implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounting, with practical knowledge of GST, TDS, and Balance Sheet preparation.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks) and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Basic understanding of Indian accounting standards and tax laws.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
