Job Title: Assistant General Manager/ Deputy General Manager – Project Manager (Solar)

Location: Head Office – Mumbai
Function: Projects – Solar
Experience: 15–22 years
Reports To: Head – Solar Projects


Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Project Manager (Solar) to lead end-to-end execution of utility-scale solar power projects across India. This strategic role is based at Mumbai HO, with frequent travel to project sites during critical phases. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in managing multi-megawatt solar projects from design and engineering to commissioning, including land coordination, EPC/vendor management, and site execution.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution

  • Lead the complete lifecycle of solar project execution – from DPR, engineering coordination, procurement follow-ups, and site mobilization to COD.

  • Develop and monitor project execution plans, ensuring adherence to cost, schedule, and quality benchmarks.

  • Coordinate with land, engineering, procurement, logistics, and construction teams for seamless implementation.

  • Identify execution risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and drive timely resolution.

Site Coordination & Monitoring

  • Conduct frequent site visits to review civil, mechanical, and electrical works.

  • Ensure module mounting, structure erection, DC cabling, inverter installation, and HT/LT evacuation systems are executed per standards.

  • Address on-ground challenges such as land leveling, access roads, equipment offloading, and grid connectivity.

  • Ensure compliance with EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards at all sites.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Manage EPC contractors, module/inverter suppliers, BOS (Balance of System) vendors, and transmission contractors.

  • Ensure deliverables from vendors and contractors meet contractual, technical, and quality specifications.

  • Drive performance of contractors and escalate bottlenecks proactively for resolution.

MIS & Reporting

  • Track and report project KPIs including physical progress, cost, manpower deployment, and resource utilization.

  • Prepare dashboards and presentations for management and external stakeholders.

  • Ensure timely documentation, compliance, and audit support.


Preferred Candidate Profile:

  • Education: B Tech Fulltime Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil).

  • Experience: 18–22 years in project execution, with minimum 10+ years in utility-scale Solar energy.

  • Proven track record in delivering large-scale solar projects (100+ MW) across multiple Indian states.

  • Leadership experience in managing multi-site teams, EPC vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Willingness to travel extensively and stay at sites as per project needs.

  • Knowledge of land acquisition, transmission approvals, and regulatory clearances is an added advantage.
