Job Summary:
The Surge Bunker Operator + BC1 (CWD) is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of surge bunkers and associated equipment in a water/wastewater treatment plant. This role requires monitoring and controlling processes, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Surge Bunker Operations:

Monitor and control surge bunkers to manage flow rates and prevent overflows.

Operate and maintain pumps, valves, and associated equipment.

Adjust bunker levels and flow rates as required.

Troubleshoot surge bunker issues and report to supervisors.
BC1 (Biosolids Cake Handling) Operations:

Monitor and control biosolids cake handling processes.
-
Operate and maintain BC1 equipment (e.g., conveyors, pumps).

Ensure efficient cake transport and storage.
-
Troubleshoot BC1 equipment issues and report to supervisors.
General Responsibilities:

Monitor treatment plant processes and report abnormalities to supervisors.

Collect and record data on plant operations (e.g., flow rates, pressure).

Perform routine laboratory tests (e.g., water quality parameters).

Maintain accurate records and logs.
-
Participate in plant maintenance and repair activities.
-
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulations, and standard operating procedures.
Maintenance and Repair:

Perform routine maintenance tasks (e.g., cleaning, lubrication).

Assist maintenance personnel with repairs and equipment installation.

Report equipment malfunctions and suggest improvements.
Safety and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulations, and standard operating procedures.

Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Participate in safety training and drills.
