Job Title: Credit Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Credit Manager to oversee our organization's credit granting and risk management processes. The Credit Manager will be responsible for evaluating customer creditworthiness, setting credit terms, and ensuring timely collections while minimizing financial risk. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to maintain positive relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Credit Risk Assessment: Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess the creditworthiness of current and potential clients.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Credit Approval: Establish credit limits, terms, and conditions for clients based on their financial stability and payment history.
- Debt Management: Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on overdue accounts, and develop strategies for debt recovery and minimizing bad debts.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on credit performance, risk exposure, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for senior management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with sales, finance, and legal teams to support business growth while maintaining healthy cash flow and minimizing risks.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant legal, regulatory, and company standards in credit and collections activities.
- Customer Relationship Management: Address customer inquiries and disputes regarding credit terms and billing issues in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s or professional certification preferred).
- Experience: Proven experience in credit management, risk analysis, or a related field, with leadership or supervisory experience being an advantage.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial analysis, credit scoring models, and accounting principles. Experience with ERP systems and credit management software is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of credit laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
