Job Description:
As a General Manager (GM) or Vice President (VP) at a power plant, you would be responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, including strategic planning, daily operations, maintenance, safety, and compliance, while ensuring optimal performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • Develop and implement long-term strategic plans for the power plant, aligning with company goals and industry trends.
    • Set and achieve operational and financial targets for the plant.
    • Monitor and analyze plant performance, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Operational Management:
    • Direct and oversee all aspects of power plant operations, including generation, transmission, and distribution.
    • Ensure the safe and reliable operation of the plant, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
    • Manage plant resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget.
  • Maintenance and Reliability:
    • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure the reliability and longevity of plant equipment.
    • Oversee the execution of maintenance activities, including planned outages and emergency repairs.
    • Manage the plant's inventory of spare parts and supplies.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure that the power plant operates in compliance with all applicable safety regulations and environmental standards.
    • Develop and implement safety programs and procedures to protect employees and the public.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and motivate a team of plant employees, fostering a culture of safety, performance, and teamwork.
    • Provide coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities for employees.
    • Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally. 
       
 
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
  • Experience: Extensive experience in the power generation industry, with a proven track record of success in leadership and management roles.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge of power plant operations, maintenance, and safety procedures.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Other Skills: Budgeting, financial management, project management, and regulatory compliance.
