We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven State Head – Sales & Operations to lead and scale our business across an entire state. This leadership role is accountable for driving state-wide revenue, optimizing ROI, reducing CAC, and ensuring strong retention and customer success. The State Head will own the P&L for the region and will be directly responsible for market penetration, strategic growth, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with experience in B2C sales, state-level business ownership, and high-performing team management, preferably in the EdTech or consumer sales domain.

Key Responsibilities:

📊 Business Ownership & Strategy

  • Own the P&L for the state, ensuring achievement of revenue, profitability, and ROI goals.
  • Design and execute state-specific growth strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Drive CAC optimization, retention improvement, and attrition reduction.
  • Forecast sales and build short-term and long-term growth roadmaps for the state.

🛠 Sales Leadership & Execution

  • Lead, manage, and scale a large sales team, including Senior Manager, Sales Managers, Territory Managers, and ground sales teams.
  • Build and monitor sales funnels, track conversion metrics, and ensure consistent pipeline growth.
  • Drive high-volume B2C sales across urban and semi-urban markets through innovative strategies.
  • Ensure revenue targets are met month-on-month with disciplined sales execution.

 

📈 Market Expansion & Penetration

  • Identify new markets, opportunities, and expansion corridors within the state.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and communities to drive enrollment and trust.
  • Leverage both online and offline channels to maximize reach and brand presence.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Customer Success & Retention

  • Ensure high-quality engagement with students and parents to drive satisfaction and retention.
  • Monitor churn, identify causes of attrition, and implement corrective action plans.
  • Build long-term relationships to generate referrals and repeat enrollments.

👥 Leadership & Team Building

  • Recruit, train, and mentor high-performing sales teams across multiple regions of the state.
  • Instil a performance-driven culture with clear KPIs, targets, and accountability.
  • Groom future leaders within the team and strengthen the middle management layer.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure seamless execution of sales, marketing, and operational initiatives across the state.
  • Monitor and control operational costs to maximize efficiency and profitability.
  • Implement systems and processes for consistent performance tracking and reporting.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or related field; MBA preferred.

  • 8–12 years of experience in sales & business leadership, with at least 4–5 years managing state/large-region operations.

  • Proven track record of owning P&L and delivering strong business results in B2C sales.

  • Experience in EdTech, BFSI, telecom, FMCG, or other high-volume B2C industries preferred.

  • Strong expertise in sales funnels, CAC, ROI, retention, and attrition management.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills with Data-driven mindset & ability to translate insights into business action.
