Business Development Manager – Cement Industry

Role Overview:
The Business Development Manager in the cement industry is responsible for expanding market presence, increasing sales volume, developing strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving revenue growth through strategic planning and execution. The role involves working closely with contractors, builders, architects, project consultants, distributors, ready-mix concrete (RMC) plants, infrastructure companies, and government departments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities in construction, real estate, infrastructure, industrial and government project sectors.

  • Develop & execute strategic sales plans to achieve cement sales targets.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, architects, cement dealers, distributors & channel partners.

  • Conduct market research to understand competitor activities, pricing trends, demand forecasts, and market potential.

  • Develop dealer networks and manage channel sales performance.

  • Generate project leads and convert them into long-term business.

  • Ensure timely payment collection and credit management.

  • Coordinate with logistics, supply chain & production teams for order fulfillment.

  • Organize promotional activities, site visits, product demos, technical seminars, and customer engagement programs.

  • Work with marketing teams to launch campaigns and new product initiatives.

  • Prepare monthly MIS reports and sales performance updates.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing structures, and service standards.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Graduate / MBA in Marketing or Sales preferred.

  • 3–10 years experience in cement, building materials, construction, RMC, steel, adhesives, paints, or similar industry.

  • Strong knowledge of project sales, channel management & B2B selling.

  • Good communication, negotiation & interpersonal skills.

  • Strong market intelligence and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and achieve sales targets.

  • Proficiency in CRM / MS Office / Forecasting tools.
