Role: BESS Design Engineer

Location: Mumbai/Bengaluru

Contract: Can be on Contract or direct on-roll

Description: 

looking for a well-rounded and driven battery storage design engineer in the Mumbai Office for designing and developing battery energy storage installations. This position takes the initial system concept ideas and translates them into fully detailed construction ready designs by doing necessary calculations, designs, BOM preparation, and answer questions during the project execution phase.

Specifically, the position will involve some or all the following:

• Use custom software tools to lithium ion battery energy storage systems

• Perform accurate system sizing calculations

• Create electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules, or connection diagrams for battery systems, using computer-aided design (CAD) software

• Develop optimal designs with SLD, PML, conduit and wire scheduling, routing and equipment plans, and conceptual 3-D renderings

• Execute designs that adhere to grid compliance and permitting requirements

• Building detailed bills of materials based on system specifications

• Coordinates with management team to develop complete proposal packages

• Work with business development, project management, and installation teams to meet client’s needs and internal design standards.

• Troubleshoot design and construction issues in the field.

• Travel to the United States as required and requested to support assignments on projects and overall office needs;

• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from accredited program.Two years of professional experience performing battery storage installations required.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Previous internship and/or related consulting experience preferred. In additional, candidates should have experience with the following:

• Electrical distribution systems at 2kV, 15kV, and 35kV power levels

• Bidirectional inverters

• AutoCAD

• National Electrical Code and standard design/construction practices.

• Ability to work collaboratively with others (Project Managers, Engineers and Designers both in Mumbai and United States) to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.

• Ability to independently complete required design.
