Job Description:
A Head Electrical job involves leading the entire electrical function, overseeing design, installation, maintenance, and safety of electrical systems, managing a team, ensuring compliance (HSE, regulations), driving efficiency (energy, uptime), budgeting, and acting as the technical authority for all electrical matters, from HT/LT panels to automation. Key duties include strategic planning, technical problem-solving, vendor management, performance evaluation, and fostering a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Management:
- Lead, train, and mentor the electrical engineering/maintenance team.
- Develop manpower strategies and approve vendors.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and project scoping.
- Technical Oversight:
- Oversee design, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Act as the main technical reference for specialists.
- Ensure equipment operates within specifications (HT/LT panels, PLCs).
- Review technical drawings and sign off on documents.
- Operations & Maintenance:
- Ensure reliable and safe operation of all electrical equipment.
- Drive maintenance strategies and improve asset reliability.
- Manage energy efficiency initiatives and optimize utility systems.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices.
- Ensure compliance with all industry standards and regulations.
- Identify and mitigate electrical hazards.
- Strategy & Improvement:
- Formulate and recommend policies and process improvements.
- Stay updated on new technologies and trends.
- Provide technical guidance for complex troubleshooting.
Essential Skills & Knowledge
- Strong technical expertise in electrical systems, including HT/LT, PLCs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Deep understanding of safety protocols (HSE) and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to manage projects, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
