Job Description:
An HR Manager for a steel pipes company strategically oversees talent acquisition (recruitment, onboarding), employee lifecycle (performance, development, retention, offboarding), industrial relations (union liaison, dispute resolution), statutory compliance (labor laws, PF/ESI), compensation/benefits, and fosters a positive, productive manufacturing culture, ensuring alignment with business goals through robust HR policies and systems. 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Talent Management: Lead recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, performance appraisals, and succession planning.
  • Employee & Industrial Relations: Bridge management-employee gaps, handle grievances, manage union negotiations, and resolve conflicts to maintain harmony, especially in a labor-intensive environment.
  • Compliance & Legal: Ensure adherence to labor laws, factory acts, and manage statutory filings (PF, ESI, Gratuity, Bonus).
  • Compensation & Benefits: Administer salary structures, benefits programs, and maintain pay plans.
  • HR Strategy & Policy: Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Performance & Culture: Drive performance management systems, foster a positive work environment, and manage employee engagement activities.
  • Administration: Oversee HR records, reporting, security, housekeeping, and facility management, often blending with Admin/IR functions. 
 
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: Degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field.
  • Experience: Proven HR management experience, ideally in manufacturing/steel.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of labor laws, HR best practices, compensation, talent acquisition, and statutory compliance.
  • Skills: Strong communication (English/Hindi), interpersonal, negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Attributes: Strategic mindset, team player, results-oriented, and ability to manage high-pressure situations.
