Job Description:
An Automation Engineer in panel manufacturing designs, programs, and implements control systems (PLC/HMI/SCADA) for electrical panels to enhance manufacturing efficiency. They bridge design and production, performing panel wiring, hardware assembly, testing, and commissioning to ensure automated systems meet technical specifications and global safety standards. [1]
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Programming: Develop PLC programs (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley) and HMI/SCADA systems to automate panel functionalities.
- System Integration & Commissioning: Supervise the wiring, testing, and installation of automated control panels, handling both on-site and remote troubleshooting.
- Panel Assembly: Collaborate with production teams to build electrical control panels, ensuring wiring accuracy and component layout conform to schematics.
- Process Improvement: Identify and integrate new technologies to improve the speed, cost-efficiency, and quality of production lines.
- Documentation: Create detailed schematics, operating manuals, project reports, and system validation documentation. [1, 2, 3]
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Industrial Automation Engineering.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with major PLC platforms (Siemens, Schneider, Delta), VFDs, and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profinet).
- Experience: Typically requires 2 to 5 years of experience in industrial control systems or manufacturing environments. [1, 2, 3]
