Core Job Responsibilities:
- Provide expert consultation, oversight and testing of cybersecurity controls.
- Contribute to projects focused on implementing cybersecurity controls, ensuring effective integration of required safeguards and continuous monitoring.
- Evaluate scope of planned testing activities for assigned assessments and align with core controls framework.
- Support business teams in achieving compliance with Abbott cybersecurity policies, control objectives, international standards, and applicable cybersecurity regulations.
- Engage with stakeholders, regulatory and certification bodies during preparation, scoping and fieldwork activities for certifications aligned with cybersecurity standards and regulations.
- Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including external partners.
- Champion change, innovation, and process-driven thinking to drive continuous improvement.
Support the evaluation and prioritization of remediation activities aimed at mitigating cyber threats.
Position Accountability/Scope:
The Cybersecurity Specialist is responsible for the oversight, implementation and testing of cybersecurity controls in support of compliance with internal, regulatory requirements and Abbott customers.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Computer Science or Information Technology) or equivalent plus 4+ years of related work experience with IT general controls, data privacy and audit support, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Minimum Experience/Training Required:
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to organize work in a logical, thorough and succinct manner.
- Extensive knowledge about cybersecurity related standards and regulations with experience implementing required cybersecurity controls.
- Experience evaluating, consulting and implementing cybersecurity related controls
- Knowledge about information system auditing methodology with the advisory support experience to successfully achieve audit aim and compliance.
- Experience presenting complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- CISSP / CISA or similar certification preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with risk management principles, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing assignments and ability to effectively prioritize.
- Excellent ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to all levels of management.
