Position Overview
The Assistant Business Development Manager (Architect Base) supports the Business Development team to grow Ascolite’s presence within architectural, design, and construction professional communities. This role focuses on fostering relationships with architects, specifying Ascolite products in their projects, and driving business opportunities through strategic engagement and market insights.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Business Growth & Market Development
Assist in identifying new business opportunities and potential projects within the architectural and construction segments.
Support execution of BD strategies to expand market share for Ascolite’s building materials portfolio (e.g., AAC blocks, construction chemicals).
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to understand trends and discover new avenues for growth.
 
Architect & Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with architects, design consultants, interior designers, contractors, and other industry stakeholders.
Regularly meet architects to understand project requirements and promote product specifications in drawings, BOQs, and tender documents.
Act as a trusted contact for architects, addressing questions and supporting specification adoption.
 
Sales Support & Presentations
Assist in preparing and delivering tailored presentations, product demos, and technical information for architectural firms.
Help prepare proposals, pricing details, and documentation required for specification and project approvals.
Coordinate follow-ups to convert leads into project specifications or sales opportunities.
 
Reporting & Analytics
Track engagement results, pipeline status, and performance against targets.
Provide regular reports to senior BD leadership with insights from architect interactions and market feedback.
Use CRM tools and data to analyze trends, refine outreach strategies, and improve BD effectiveness.
 
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, product, and technical support, to ensure seamless delivery of product information and client satisfaction.
Support marketing campaigns and architect-focused events to enhance brand visibility and specification consideration.
 
Industry Engagement
Represent Ascolite at industry meetups, exhibitions, and architectural networking events.
Keep updated on architectural design trends, new building technologies, and product innovations that influence specification decisions.
 
 
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (MBA preferred).
2–6 years of experience in business development, sales, or relationship management within the architectural, construction, or building materials industry.
Proven experience engaging with architects and consultants is a strong advantage.
 
Skills & Competencies
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Strong understanding of architectural specification processes and project procurement lifecycle.
Ability to build long-term professional relationships.
Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce or similar).
Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Number of new architect engagements and specifications secured.
Growth in architect-driven business opportunities.
Contribution to revenue and pipeline growth.
Quality and timeliness of reporting and market insights delivered.
