Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and performance of a team to ensure objectives are achieved efficiently and effectively. This role involves guiding, motivating, and supporting team members, coordinating tasks, monitoring progress, and maintaining a productive and positive work environment aligned with organizational goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Supervise day-to-day activities of the garnishment team, ensuring workload is distributed appropriately and deadlines are met.
  2. Assign tasks related to order setup review, payment review, and garnishment sign-offs across team members.
  3. Review teamwork for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies and regulations.
  4. Serve as first level of escalation for complex garnishment inquiries, employee concerns, and agency questions.
  5. Ensure policies, procedures, and controls are consistently followed across the team.
  6. Track team performance using metrics and KPIs; identify gaps and recommend improvements.
  7. Provide coaching, mentoring, and ongoing support to team members.
  8. Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new team members.
  9. Maintain accurate documentation, SOPs, and reference materials for team processes.
  10. Partner with Payroll, HR, Legal, and other departments to resolve escalated issues.
  11. Support audit readiness and ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
  12. Assist with rollout of new systems, enhancements, upgrades, and process improvements.
  13. Recognize performance and support corrective actions when necessary.
  14. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

  6. Proficiency with performance metrics and reporting tools. 

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Experience managing a team in a rapidly changing environment
  2. Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate subordinates
  3. Ability to build and maintain strong teams
  4. Advise staff on procedure, system and policy changes as required
  5. Conduct necessary staff coaching, corrective actions and annual reviews with appropriate feedback as required
  6. Participates in meetings for the purpose of receiving or communicating information needed to perform functions timely and accurately
  7. Train/coach/mentor and supervise the daily work activities of assigned staff.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Graduation or equivalent to Graduations is minimum required qualification for this role.
  2. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related payroll experience.
  3. Proficient in use of computers, Microsoft Excel, V-Lookups and Pivot Tables.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication is desirable.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Masters in business management will be preferred.
  2. Experience in Multi Client Environment preferred.
  3. UKG Pro/Ready Experience preferred.
