Job Description: Civil Engineer (Government Infrastructure)
- Site Management & Supervision: Conduct regular site visits, supervise construction crews, and ensure compliance with design drawings, specifications, and safety codes.
- Regulatory Compliance & Liaison: Act as a liaison between government departments, consultants, and contractors, ensuring all legal requirements, environmental impact assessments, and necessary permits are met.
- Project Planning & Technical Support: Review and develop blueprints, detailed engineering designs, and construction plans (using tools like AutoCAD).
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare daily/weekly project progress reports, cost estimates, material budgets, and project bidding documents.
- Project Controls: Monitor project schedules, identify risks, and resolve design or development problems efficiently.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: Proven experience in infrastructure construction (roads, water sewage, urban development), specifically working with government tenders.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, structural design software, and project management tools (e.g., MS Project).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of local building codes and government procurement rules.
- Communication: Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Feasibility Study: Conducting feasibility studies to ensure project feasibility, including site investigation and soil testing.
- Cost Estimation: Calculating material and labor costs to prepare competitive bids.
- Safety Oversight: Enforcing strict compliance with Health & Safety (HSE) guidelines.
