Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Executive in the Garnishment Team is responsible for managing end-to-end garnishment processing, ensuring accurate deductions from employee payroll, compliance with legal orders, and timely remittance of payments to relevant agencies. The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of payroll processes, and adherence to statutory regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review, validate, and process employee garnishment orders (e.g., court orders, tax levies, child support).
  • Ensure accurate calculation and deduction of garnishments during each payroll cycle.
  • Monitor payroll periods to ensure all active garnishments are applied correctly and within legal limits.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to wage garnishments.
  • Process and reconcile garnishment payments to agencies within defined timelines.
  • Coordinate with payroll, HR, and legal teams for clarification and issue resolution.
  • Handle employee queries related to garnishment deductions professionally and confidentially.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and audit trails for all garnishment activities.
  • Perform regular audits and checks to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and support automation or efficiency initiatives.
  • Assist in training junior team members and act as a subject matter expert (SME).

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong understanding of payroll cycles and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of garnishment types and legal frameworks (e.g., wage attachments, tax levies).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in garnishments
  • Experience in Multi Client Environment preferred.
  • UKG Pro/Ready Experience preferred.
  • Experience calling U.S. Garn Agencies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

  • 8:00 am CST to 5:00 pm CST (6:30 PM IST to 3:30 AM IST (the following morning))
