Job Description:
An HR Officer in a steel manufacturing company manages the full employee lifecycle, focusing on high-volume recruitment of skilled/unskilled labor, statutory labor law compliance (Factories Act, PF, ESI), payroll processing, and managing Industrial Relations (IR). They maintain safety standards, handle contractor management, and resolve employee grievances to ensure a productive plant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Staffing: Source and hire skilled (operators, fitters, welders) and unskilled labor, plus engineers and staff, managing bulk hiring and contractor labor.
- Statutory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to the Factories Act, labor laws, safety regulations, and manage interaction with the Directorate of Factories and Labor.
- Payroll & Time Office: Manage daily attendance, time office operations, and salary/benefits processing.
- Industrial Relations (IR): Maintain positive relationships between management and workers, handling union negotiations and resolving grievances.
- Onboarding & Training: Conduct employee onboarding, orientation, and organize mandatory safety training.
- Performance & Records: Manage performance appraisal processes and maintain detailed employee records
