Job Description:
A Tender Executive for a fabrication plant manages the end-to-end bidding process to secure contracts for structural steel, heavy machinery, and industrial fabrication projects. They are responsible for identifying tender opportunities, analyzing technical specifications, preparing commercial proposals, and submitting compliant bids on government (GeM, CPPP) and private portals.
Key Responsibilities
- Tender Monitoring: Daily monitoring of e-tender portals (GeM, CPPP, e-procure) for fabrication-related opportunities.
- Documentation Analysis: Reviewing RFQs/RFPs (Request for Quotation/Proposal), tender documents, technical specifications, and BOQ (Bill of Quantities) to evaluate feasibility.
- Bid Preparation & Costing: Preparing technical and commercial bids, preparing cost sheets, and coordinating with the engineering/production team for estimation.
- Coordination: Liaising with technical, production, and accounts departments to compile required documents (EMD, bank guarantees, compliance certificates).
- Submission & Compliance: Ensuring timely online/offline submission of bids and maintaining compliance with client requirements and regulations.
- Liaison & Follow-up: Communicating with clients for pre-bid meetings, clarifications, and post-submission follow-ups.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration (BBA), or Commerce (B.Com) is typically required.
- Experience: 1–5 years of experience in tendering, specifically in manufacturing, engineering, or heavy fabrication industries.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with MS Office (specifically Excel for costing) and e-tendering platforms like GeM and CPPP.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze tender technical specifications and financial requirements.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in marine & offshore fabrication, oil & gas, or civil construction fabrication tenders.
- Knowledge of tender terminology like L1 (lowest bidder) and bid security.
