Job Description:

A Security Officer in a steel pipe manufacturing company protects the plant's assets, personnel, and perimeter. Key responsibilities include managing access controls, preventing the theft of valuable steel raw materials and finished goods, monitoring CCTV systems, and ensuring emergency and fire safety protocols are strictly followed. Core Responsibilities

1. Access & Gate Control

Vehicle & Visitor Management: Verify credentials and issue gate passes for all incoming/outgoing visitors, contractors, and transport vehicles.
Material Tracking: Inspect and tally raw materials (e.g., steel coils, plates) and finished pipes against delivery challans to prevent pilferage.
Staff Entry: Manage turnstiles, biometric scanners, and ID checks for shift workers and plant staff. [1, 2, 3, 4]

2. Plant Security & Surveillance

Patrolling: Conduct regular foot or vehicle patrols around the plant perimeter, warehouses, and manufacturing bays.
CCTV Monitoring: Oversee the surveillance room to watch for unauthorized access, suspicious activities, or equipment tampering.
Theft Deterrence: Implement zero-pilferage strategies to minimize the loss of inventory and company property. [1, 2, 3, 4]

3. Safety & Emergency Response

Fire & Safety Systems: Routinely check the serviceability of fire hydrants, alarms, and extinguishers.

4. Administration & Reporting

Key Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: 3-5 years in industrial security, preferably in a heavy manufacturing or metallurgical environment. Ex-servicemen (Army/Paramilitary) are frequently preferred.

Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long periods and navigate industrial manufacturing floors.
