Job Description:
A Project Coordinator for a steel manufacturing company organizes workflows, tracks project progress, and bridges the communication gap between on-site teams, corporate management, and clients. They ensure projects are executed on time, within budget, and up to industrial standards. [1, 2, 3]
Key Responsibilities
- Project Tracking: Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly progress of steel manufacturing or infrastructure projects to ensure milestones are met. [1, 2]
- Interdepartmental Liaison: Serve as the central point of contact between site engineers, procurement, production, and head office management. [1, 2]
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare, maintain, and analyze MIS reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and compliance records. [1, 2]
- Resource Coordination: Assist in tracking inventory, managing vendor purchase orders, and ensuring technical and construction materials are available. [1, 2]
- Risk Management: Identify potential delays or operational bottlenecks and report them to the project manager for timely resolution. [1, 2]
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Typically 10+ years of experience coordinating projects, preferably in steel, manufacturing, or heavy engineering sectors.
- Soft Skills: Excellent organizational, time-management, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel for MIS reporting) and familiarity with project management software. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
