Job Description:
A Production Shift Incharge oversees manufacturing operations during a specific shift to meet production targets. They manage manpower, enforce quality and safety protocols, and troubleshoot equipment issues. The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and deep knowledge of plant processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Management: Supervise the shop floor to achieve daily, shift-wise output targets while minimizing waste and equipment downtime.
- Manpower Allocation: Assign tasks, manage shift schedules, and monitor operator performance to ensure optimal workflow.
- Quality Control: Ensure all products adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and conduct routine stage-wise quality checks.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) protocols, including the safe handling of materials and proper use of safety gear.
- Maintenance Coordination: Collaborate with maintenance teams to address machine breakdowns and execute preventive maintenance schedules.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate shift logs, monitor raw material inventory, and provide thorough shift-handover reports to management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Sc./B.Tech) in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Production Engineering.
- Experience: 3 to 7+ years in manufacturing/plant operations, with a minimum of 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
- Industry Expertise: Familiarity with specific regional processes (e.g., steel manufacturing/DRI, chemicals, or FMCG).
- Core Skills: Strong leadership, decision-making under pressure, conflict resolution, and proficiency in ERP/SAP systems and MS Office.
