Job Description:

The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, upkeep, and reliability of all mechanical equipment, fabrication machinery, and machine shop tools. The role includes preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of equipment used in fabrication processes such as welding, cutting, and machining, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance:

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all fabrication and machine shop equipment (lathe, milling, CNC, drilling, welding, cutting, bending, shearing machines, etc.).
• Conduct periodic inspections and condition monitoring of critical equipment.
• Maintain maintenance records and generate performance reports.

2. Breakdown Maintenance:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly to minimize production downtime.
• Coordinate repair and replacement of defective parts using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Ensure quick resolution of mechanical failures during shifts.

3. Equipment Installation & Commissioning:

• Support installation, alignment, and commissioning of new machinery.
• Verify equipment performance against specifications.

4. Continuous Improvement:

• Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Suggest and implement improvements for machine reliability and energy efficiency.

5. Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety standards and company policies.
• Maintain documentation related to safety checks, audits, and equipment certifications.
• Train machine operators on basic maintenance and safety practices.

• Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.
• Experience in maintenance of fabrication machines (Plasma cutting machine and welding machines) and machine tools (CNC, lathe, milling, drilling, grinding).
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting mechanical failures.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals.
