Job Summary:

The NOC Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the IT infrastructure, ensuring that systems are running smoothly, and addressing any issues that arise. This role requires expertise in using monitoring tools like SolarWinds and Site24x7 to oversee critical components such as Windows Servers, VMware ESXi, Azure Cloud platforms, Network plateform and other essential IT systems. The NOC Engineer will be the first line of defense in identifying and troubleshooting issues, escalating them to the L3 team when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitoring and Analysis:

  • Continuously monitor IT infrastructure components, including servers, network devices, and cloud platforms, using tools like SolarWinds and Site24x7.
  • Identify and respond to alerts, ensuring that potential issues are addressed before they impact business operations.
  • Perform regular health checks and generate reports on system performance, uptime, and resource utilization.

Incident Management:

  • Act as the first point of contact for all infrastructure-related alerts and incidents.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting to determine the root cause of issues, resolving or escalating them as needed.
  • Create and manage tickets in the incident management system, documenting all relevant details for further investigation.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with the L3 team, network engineers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management to provide status updates and recommendations for improving system stability.

Configuration and Maintenance:

  • Assist in configuring and maintaining monitoring tools to ensure comprehensive coverage of all critical systems.
  • Participate in routine maintenance tasks, such as patch management and system updates, in collaboration with the appropriate teams.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify areas for improvement within the monitoring and incident management processes.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to monitoring strategies, tools, and workflows to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5-8 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or similar IT support role.
  • Proficiency in monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Site24x7, or equivalent.
  • Experience with managing and monitoring Windows Servers, VMware ESXi, Azure Cloud platforms, Network and other IT infrastructure components.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to document and escalate issues effectively.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSA, VCP, Azure) are advantageous.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 environment with rotational shifts primarily on UK and the US business hours
