CIVIL ENGINEER

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Design:

  • Develop detailed designs and plans for residential and commercial projects.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate potential project sites.
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify designs.

• Construction Management:

  • Oversee and manage construction projects from conception to completion.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and other legal requirements.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure timely and within-budget completion.

• Technical Support and Problem Solving:

  • Provide technical advice and support to project teams.
  • Identify and resolve engineering issues that arise during the design and construction phases.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to engineering standards and specifications.

• Quality Control and Compliance:

  • Ensure that all engineering work is completed to a high standard of quality.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and audits on construction sites.
  • Maintain documentation and records related to project activities and compliance.

• Client and Stakeholder Management:

  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their requirements and expectations.
  • Provide regular updates on project status and address any concerns or queries.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
• Minimum of [X] years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on residential and commercial projects.
• Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering design tools.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods.

• Experience with geotechnical, structural, and environmental engineering.
• Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar.

Working Conditions

• Primarily office-based with regular site visits.
• Occasional travel to project sites as required.
• May involve working extended hours to meet project deadlines.
