Job Responsibilities:
Java middleware programming for IG’s web applications. Minimum 8+ years of experience. Will be able to coach and mentor staff (will not have any direct reports) To define and apply the technical standards and direction for the team. Is sought out by other members of the team for guidance on all aspects of software engineering Is trusted by architects to lead the implementation of their architectural designs within their team. To remain up-to-date in respect of current and future plans as they relate to the team’s area of work To support the delivery teams in getting software developed and released through the delivery pipeline in the deadlines stipulated by the project To participate in relevant IT and non-IT projects as directed by their line manager

Criteria - Experience
Essential
- Must have expert Core Java, Java EE, Java 8 and related technologies like Spring or Spring Boot, MicroServices, JMS, Rest API (Rest webservices) Hibernate, JUNIT, GIT, Maven.
- Need very strong experience on TDD & BDD using JUNIT & Cucumber.
- Has experience in designing and developing RESTful web services
- Solid understanding of MVC, and strong OO skills in developing reusable API’s
- Should have worked on any relational database systems with enough hands on experience designing tables, writing stored procedures, functions and performance tuning
- Must have 6+ years of experience on Java EE applications
- Must have expert knowledge of at least one application server such as WebLogic, Tomcat, JBoss, etc.
- Highly self-motivated and directed as well as an effective team player.
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
- Strong leadership abilities to manage and train the team.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Experience in CI/CD concepts
Desirable
- Kafka, Spring Cloud Framework, NoSQL Databases
- Domain Driven Design (DDD), Hexagonal Architecture
- Had experience of developing middleware services to support commercial web-applications
- Front-end development experience e.g. React, Ember, Angular etc.
- Knowledge of monitoring and troubleshooting systems.
- Awareness of DevOps concepts
