Job Description:
A Field Sales Executive/Officer for an auto dealer drives vehicle sales by prospecting, engaging clients, and closing deals, both on-site and through field visits. They must possess strong communication and negotiation skills to meet sales targets, manage customer relationships, and stay updated on product knowledge. This is a field-based, result-oriented role. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Engagement & Sales: Actively identify, approach, and secure new customers, conducting test drives and demonstrating vehicle features.
  • Field Activities: Visit potential clients, corporate offices, or community events to generate leads and boost brand presence.
  • Sales Target Achievement: Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales volume targets for new or used vehicles.
  • Deal Negotiation & Closing: Negotiate prices, trade-ins, and financing options, finalizing sales contracts and ensuring smooth, timely vehicle delivery.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain long-term customer relationships for referrals and provide excellent post-sale support.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay updated on competitor activities, market trends, and industry developments. 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous experience in automotive sales, field sales, or direct sales (1+ years preferred).
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport and handle negotiations, often in a 30 Statements To Help You Close the Sale article format.
  • Driving License: A valid driver’s license is required for test drives and field mobility.
  • Target-Oriented: A proactive, self-motivated mindset with a strong drive for achieving results.
  • Education: A graduate degree, or an MBA in Marketing is preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of vehicle features, financing, and insurance processes. 
Working Conditions
  • This role requires extensive local travel for client meetings, in addition to time spent in the dealership showroom.
  • Working hours often include weekends and holidays to accommodate customer availability.
