Job Description:
An HR Officer in a construction company manages the full employee lifecycle, focusing on site-specific recruitment, payroll for contractual/permanent staff, statutory compliance (labor laws), and on-site welfare. They bridge the gap between management and field workers, handling high-volume hiring, safety training, attendance, and record-keeping.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Source, screen, and onboard skilled construction workers, engineers, and staff.
- Payroll & Attendance: Manage daily attendance, leaves, and payroll processing for both office and site-based workers.
- Statutory Compliance: Ensure compliance with labor laws, safety regulations, and government-mandated benefits (social security, health).
- Site Administration: Manage site-level HR issues, including accommodation, transport, and welfare.
- Training & Development: Organize safety training and technical skill enhancement sessions.
- Employee Relations: Resolve grievances, handle disciplinary actions, and manage performance appraisals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in HR, preferably in construction or engineering sectors.
- Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS software, strong knowledge of labor laws, excellent communication, and organizational skills.
- Specific Requirements: Ability to manage high-volume, quick-turnaround staffing needs.
