Job Description:
A Purchase Executive in a steel manufacturing company manages the end-to-end procurement of raw materials (iron ore, coal, scrap, ferroalloys) and consumables (welding rods, gases). They ensure uninterrupted production by negotiating with vendors, processing POs via ERP systems (like SAP/Tally), managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Operations: Procure raw materials and technical consumables to meet production schedules and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, optimal payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Cost Management & Negotiation: Analyze market trends and negotiate contracts to reduce purchasing costs.
- Order Processing & Tracking: Raise purchase orders (POs) in ERP systems and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
- Compliance & Quality Control: Verify supplier invoices, Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), and ensure materials meet quality standards.
