SR. LAB CHEMIST ROLLING MILL FOR STEEL MANUFACTURING - RAIGARH, CHHATTISGARH

• Chemical Analysis: Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of raw materials (e.g., billets, sponge iron), alloys, and molten metals to verify the exact carbon, sulfur, manganese, and phosphorus compositions.
• Testing & Quality Control: Conduct physical and chemical testing on finished TMT bars (e.g., tensile strength, elongation, and yield strength tests) to ensure they meet BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) or international requirements.
• Equipment Operation: Calibrate and operate analytical instruments such as XRF Spectrometers, Optical Emission Spectrometers (OES), and combustion analyzers.
• Process Troubleshooting: Quickly identify deviations in steel chemistry during rolling and provide corrective recommendations to the production and quality assurance (QA) teams.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor junior chemists and laboratory staff across different shifts.
• Documentation & Safety: Maintain strict laboratory records, manage chemical inventory, and ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and GLP/ISO standards. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]

• Education: B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
• Experience: 2-3 years of hands-on experience in quality control within an integrated steel plant, induction furnace, or rolling mill.
• Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and working knowledge of LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems). [1, 2, 3, 4]
