Job Summary
The Business Development Executive is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, acquiring customers, developing strategic relationships, and driving revenue growth for IT hardware, networking, cybersecurity, cloud, and infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Lead Generation
- Identify and develop new customers in corporate, SME, manufacturing, healthcare, education, BFSI, and government sectors.
- Generate leads through networking, referrals, cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn, and industry events.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
- Client Acquisition
- Meet prospective customers to understand their IT infrastructure requirements.
- Present company products and solutions.
- Convert qualified leads into long-term customers.
- IT Solution Selling
Promote and sell:
- Servers and storage solutions
- Desktops, laptops, and workstations
- Network switches, routers, wireless solutions
- Firewalls and cybersecurity solutions
- Data center and cloud solutions
- Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC)
- Managed IT services
- Account Management
- Maintain relationships with existing clients.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Proposal & Commercial Management
- Prepare proposals, quotations, and tenders.
- Coordinate with technical and procurement teams for solution design and pricing.
- Participate in commercial negotiations and contract finalization.
- Market Intelligence
- Track competitor activities and market trends.
- Identify emerging technologies and customer requirements.
- Provide market feedback to management.
- Sales Reporting
- Update CRM and sales pipeline regularly.
- Submit weekly and monthly business development reports.
- Track achievement against sales targets.
Required Skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
- Understanding of IT hardware, networking, and cybersecurity solutions.
- Knowledge of sales processes and CRM tools.
- Ability to prepare business proposals and presentations.
Educational Qualification
- Graduate in Business, Commerce, Engineering, or Information Technology.
- MBA (Marketing) preferred but not mandatory.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in IT hardware, networking, system integration, or technology sales.
- Experience in B2B sales preferred.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- New customers acquired.
- Revenue generated.
- Gross margin achieved.
- Number of meetings and presentations conducted.
- Conversion rate from lead to order.
- Customer retention and repeat business.
