Job Summary

We are looking for experienced Electro-Mechanical Engineers to join the Service & Support team and take responsibility for the electrical and mechanical health, performance, reliability and uptime of automated machinery.

The selected candidate will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and electromechanical breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, coordinate with OEMs and technical teams, manage spare requirements and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.

This role is ideal for engineers with hands-on experience in warehouse automation, intralogistics, conveyor systems, sorters, material handling systems, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, motors, gearboxes and industrial automation equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Maintenance & Uptime

  • Manage and maintain automated machines from both electrical and mechanical perspectives.
  • Ensure maximum equipment availability and uptime.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to approved schedules, checklists and maintenance plans.
  • Conduct routine inspection, testing, lubrication, alignment and calibration activities.
  • Monitor machine health and identify potential failures before they result in breakdowns.

Breakdown Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical and electromechanical breakdowns with minimum turnaround time.
  • Troubleshoot faults involving sensors, VFDs, motors, control panels, wiring, PLC inputs/outputs and motor-control systems.
  • Identify root causes of recurring machine failures.
  • Implement immediate corrective actions to restore machine operation.
  • Support critical breakdown situations and emergency maintenance requirements.
  • Provide breakdown support during off-duty hours whenever business or customer requirements demand it.
  • Maintain detailed records of breakdowns, failures, downtime and corrective actions.

Warehouse Automation Maintenance

  • Maintain and troubleshoot conveyors, sorters and automated material-handling systems.
  • Perform conveyor belt alignment and mechanical adjustment.
  • Handle motor replacement, gearbox replacement and mechanical assemblies.
  • Perform shaft alignment and equipment/system leveling.
  • Support installation, modification and maintenance of automation equipment.
  • Assist in basic fabrication and on-site modifications where required.

Electrical & Automation Support

  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, wiring, sensors, VFDs and control panels.
  • Use a multimeter and basic diagnostic tools for electrical fault finding.
  • Understand PLC fault identification and basic ladder logic.
  • Identify faults related to motors, drives, sensors and control systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.

Spare Parts & Inventory

  • Identify critical spare requirements based on equipment condition and maintenance history.
  • Prepare timely spare-part indents.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers and OEMs for spare parts and technical support.
  • Maintain appropriate availability of critical electrical and mechanical spares.
  • Track usage and replacement of components.

OEM & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, suppliers and internal technical teams for complex issue resolution.
  • Escalate technical issues appropriately and follow through until closure.
  • Support multiple customer sites based on business requirements.
  • Maintain professional communication with customer and site stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve machine reliability, performance and uptime.
  • Analyze recurring breakdowns and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Suggest machine modifications and technical improvements.
  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and maintenance costs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and equipment history.

Technical Skills Required

Electrical Skills

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial wiring and electrical circuits.
  • Hands-on experience with sensors and VFDs.
  • Understanding of electrical control panels.
  • Motor control and troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to use a multimeter and basic electrical diagnostic equipment.

PLC & Automation

  • Basic knowledge of PLC systems.
  • Ability to identify PLC-related faults.
  • Basic understanding of ladder logic is preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation control systems.
  • Understanding of sensors, actuators and machine-control systems.

Mechanical Skills

  • Hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance.
  • Conveyor maintenance and belt alignment.
  • Motor replacement and gearbox handling.
  • Shaft alignment and equipment leveling.
  • Experience with mechanical assemblies and machine components.
  • Basic fabrication knowledge including welding and grinding.
  • Ability to perform on-site mechanical modifications.

Engineering Documentation

  • Ability to read and interpret:
