Job Description:
A Human Resources (HR) Officer is responsible for managing the daily operational aspects of the human resources department, acting as a key bridge between management and employees. They ensure compliance with labor laws, manage the employee lifecycle—from recruitment to termination—and support workforce engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Prepare job descriptions, advertise positions, screen candidates, conduct interviews, and manage the onboarding process for new hires.
- Employee Relations: Act as the first point of contact for employee queries, resolve workplace conflicts, and manage disciplinary/grievance issues.
- Administration & Records: Maintain accurate digital and physical employee files, including contracts, personal information, and attendance records.
- Payroll and Benefits: Assist in payroll processing, benefits administration (insurance,, leaves, etc.), and compensation management.
- Performance Management: Facilitate performance appraisal processes, assist with setting goals, and track performance improvement plans.
- Compliance and Policies: Ensure all company policies adhere to local, state, and federal labor laws.
- Training and Development: Organize staff training sessions, workshops, and development activities.
Requirements and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience (usually 2-5 years) as an HR Officer, Coordinator, or in a similar generalist role.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of labor laws, HR functions (pay, benefits, hiring), and best practices.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), such as Workday or People HR.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills, discretion in handling confidential information, and organizational skills.
- Certification: HR credentials (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP, or CIPD) are often preferred.

- Conducting new hire orientation.
- Managing employee engagement initiatives and surveys.
- Preparing HR reports (e.g., turnover rates, attendance).
- Reviewing employment contracts
