Job Description:
An HR Officer/Manager is responsible for a variety of human resources functions, including managing recruitment, onboarding, training, employee relations, and ensuring compliance with labor lawsKey duties involve bridging the gap between employees and management, developing HR strategies to align with business goals, administering compensation and benefits, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. The HR Manager role also involves higher-level strategic planning and overseeing the entire HR department, while the HR Officer focuses on more hands-on operational and administrative tasks. 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:
    Manage the recruitment process, conduct interviews, make hiring decisions, and onboard new employees. 
     
  • Employee Relations:
    Serve as a link between management and employees, address grievances, and facilitate promotions and career development. 
     
  • Training & Development:
    Organize training programs, develop strategies for employee growth, and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives. 
     
  • Compensation & Benefits:
    Administer employee benefits, manage payroll, and oversee compensation strategies. 
     
  • Legal Compliance:
    Ensure the organization adheres to all employment laws and regulations and maintain HR records accordingly. 
     
  • Performance Management:
    Oversee performance appraisal systems, provide support to employees and managers, and foster a high-performance culture. 
     
  • HR Strategy & Policy:
    Help develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives and establish effective HR policies and procedures. 
     
  • Employee Engagement & Culture:
    Promote company values, drive employee engagement, and work to create a positive and inclusive work environment. 
     
HR Officer vs. HR Manager
  • HR Officer:
    Generally performs more administrative and operational tasks, focusing on the daily execution of HR functions and supporting the HR Manager. 
     
  • HR Manager:
    Oversees the HR department, takes on a more strategic role, consults with top executives, and leads the development and implementation of HR strategies. 
     
Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. 
     
  • Proficiency in talent management, employee relations, and HR systems. 
     
  • Knowledge of labor laws and compliance.

Company Profile

The company is in midst of implementing a 0.42 Million Tonne Per Annum (MTPA) integrated steel plant to produce steel. Steel thus produced will consume 0.315 Million Tonne Sponge Iron from the proposed unit and 0.03 Million Tonne from the existing unit. Thus consuming the entire quantity of high grade sponge iron produced in its own manufacturing facilities. When iron is smelted from its ore by commercial processes, it contains more carbon, phosphorus, sulphar etc. than is desirable. To produce high quality steel, the elements must be brought to the within the desirable limits. The liquid steel is processed through AOD and VOD furnaces to achieve the desirable limits of elements. The liquid is then continuously casted into long slabs or through ingots.
