Reporting to: Asst. Director (Medical) and CEO

About the Organization: Breach Candy Hospital Trust is a Charitable Trust registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950. The role of Senior Compliance Executive – Legal involves liaising, managing, training, and executing various legal and compliance-related responsibilities. This position also includes serving as the Member-Secretary to the Hospital’s Employee Grievance Redressal Committee and the Committee for Redressal of Sexual Harassment Grievances.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drafting and finalizing legal documents, including resolutions, affidavits, undertakings, and indemnity bonds.
  2. We are preparing letters and replies to authorities.
  3. Drafting, vetting, and renewing agreements, including those with Third Party Administrators and Insurers, in line with insurance regulations and clinical trial agreements.
  4. We are negotiating and finalizing contracts with suppliers and stakeholders.
  5. Addressing legal and compliance-related queries from various departments.
  6. Overseeing compliance with medical laws and sensitizing departments to new legal developments.
  7. Providing legal advice on compliance related to kidney transplant cases.
  8. Conducting quarterly medico-legal audits.
  9. Leading staff training sessions on policies regarding Sexual Harassment and Grievance Redressal, in both Hindi and English.
  10. Preparing briefs and liaising with external lawyers for litigation matters.
  11. Coordinating with regulatory authorities and external agencies on behalf of the hospital.
  12. Representing the Hospital and Research Centre before local and quasi-judicial authorities.
  13. Ensuring compliance with sexual harassment laws and reporting to relevant authorities as required.
  14. Organizing and documenting Internal Complaints Committee meetings on Sexual Harassment and Grievance Committee meetings in compliance with Labour Commissioner directions.
  15. Maintaining a knowledge management system for circulating notifications, circulars, and legal amendments to functional heads.
